Walk-in cooler or freezer down after hours? What to do first
- Keep the walk-in door shut. A closed box holds temperature much longer than one that gets opened every few minutes to check on it.
- Write down the box temperature and the time, then check it again on a regular schedule. That log helps with your own records, an insurance claim, or a health inspector’s questions.
- Call or text Rick at 619-905-3392 with your address, whether you need cooler-range or freezer-range, and roughly how much product you have.
- Move the most temperature-sensitive product first (proteins, dairy, frozen stock, event flowers) once the trailer is plugged in and down to temperature.
What Rick needs to dispatch an emergency refrigerated trailer
- The actual delivery address and where the trailer can sit: parking lot, loading dock, alley, or driveway. Our trailers are about 7 ft wide and need truck access and a spot they can stay in for the whole rental. A photo of the spot helps.
- What power is near that spot. The 12′ plugs into a standard 120V outlet. If you are not sure what you have, tell us and we will match the unit or talk through a generator.
- Cooler-range or freezer-range. The 12′ holds about 34°F to 40°F+. The 16′ cooler/freezer trailer adjusts from about −10°F up to 40°F+.
- What is going in and how long you need it: one night, a weekend, or until the walk-in is repaired.

If the trailer is covering a failed walk-in, we can inspect the box while the trailer is on site and quote the walk-in cooler repair, gaskets, door, or refurb work, so you are not renting longer than you need to.

How cold do the emergency trailers get?
The 12′ refrigerated trailer runs cooler-range, about 34°F to 40°F+. The 16′ cooler/freezer trailer is adjustable from about −10°F to 40°F+. It is a mobile freezer, not a deep freeze, so load product that is already frozen.
Do you deliver outside Escondido?
