What El Cajon uses refrigerated trailers for
El Cajon has a deep, busy independent restaurant scene and a lot of older commercial buildings, which is a combination that produces walk-in failures. When a box goes down in the middle of a week, the choice is usually between dumping product and getting a cold trailer into the lot. That is the call we get most often from East County.
The other El Cajon use is straightforward overflow: a market, a bakery, a caterer, or a commissary that needs refrigerated square footage for a stretch — a holiday, a large order, a remodel of the cold room — without renting a second building.
Because the drive is beyond the free radius, we price the delivery and the pickup as part of the quote. That is a per-address number, not a published rate, and it depends on the dates as much as the mileage. What does not change is the equipment: the same 12-foot 120V trailer and the same 16-foot 220V 30 amp cooler/freezer trailer, both holding 0–35°F, both available with or without a generator.
East County lots are often generous on space, which helps. Confirm you have either the right receptacle or the generator on the booking, because a trailer with no power is just a box.
The two trailers we rent
We rent two units and only two units. There is no catalog behind this page.
- 12′ refrigerated trailer — about 7 ft × 12 ft, 0–35°F, runs on a standard 120V outlet. Available with or without a generator.
- 16′ cooler/freezer trailer — about 7 ft × 16 ft, 0–35°F, needs a 220V 30 amp plug. Available with or without a generator.
Both are about seven feet wide inside, which is wider than most of the refrigerated trailer rentals advertised around San Diego County, which are commonly six feet wide. Both hold anywhere in the 0–35°F band, so the same trailer works as a cooler or as a freezer depending on the setpoint — tell us which end you need when you book. They hold temperature; they are not blast freezers, so load product already cold.
If the El Cajon site has no receptacle you can count on, add the generator. It is the single most common thing people get wrong on a first rental.
Booking a trailer for El Cajon
Have four things ready: the delivery address in El Cajon, your start and end dates, whether you need cooler-range or freezer-range temperature, and a description of where the trailer will sit — gates, slope, overhead clearance, and who will be on site to meet the driver.
