Refrigerated trailer rental San Marcos, CA
San Marcos is about fifteen minutes down the 78 from our shop at 1175 Industrial Ave, Suite J in Escondido, which puts the whole city comfortably inside our 20-mile free delivery radius. To be clear about the name: this is San Marcos, California, in San Diego County — not San Marcos, Texas. We are a commercial refrigeration shop, not a national broker, and both trailers we rent are shop-owned units we maintain ourselves.
The short version: two shop-owned refrigerated trailers, both holding 0–35°F, delivered to San Marcos from Escondido. Delivery and pickup in San Marcos are free because the city is inside 20 miles of the Escondido shop. Shop hours are Monday–Friday, 8AM–4PM PT. Call 760-745-5252 or book online.
What San Marcos uses refrigerated trailers for
A lot of the San Marcos trailer work we do sits around the university and the restaurant clusters that feed it. Semester start, graduation weekend, and conference catering all push kitchens past what their walk-in shelf can hold, and a trailer in the lot is cheaper than turning away covers. The business parks off San Marcos Boulevard and Rancho Santa Fe Road generate a different kind of call: a food producer or commissary in a tilt-up with one cold room, needing overflow space during a production run or while the cold room gets refurbished.
Placement in San Marcos is usually straightforward — most of the commercial lots there are newer, with real truck access and pavement that will take a loaded trailer. The exceptions are the older strip centers, where the only flat spot is a fire lane or a stall you will want back at 6PM. Send a photo of where you want it and we will tell you before the truck leaves whether the spot works.
Because San Marcos is inside the free radius, delivery and pickup cost you nothing extra; you are paying for the rental days, the temperature, and the generator if you take one.
The two trailers we rent
We rent two units and only two units. There is no catalog behind this page.
- 12′ refrigerated trailer — about 7 ft × 12 ft, 0–35°F, runs on a standard 120V outlet. Available with or without a generator.
- 16′ cooler/freezer trailer — about 7 ft × 16 ft, 0–35°F, needs a 220V 30 amp plug. Available with or without a generator.
Both are about seven feet wide inside, which is wider than most of the refrigerated trailer rentals advertised around San Diego County, which are commonly six feet wide. Both hold anywhere in the 0–35°F band, so the same trailer works as a cooler or as a freezer depending on the setpoint — tell us which end you need when you book. They hold temperature; they are not blast freezers, so load product already cold.
If the San Marcos site has no receptacle you can count on, add the generator. It is the single most common thing people get wrong on a first rental.
Booking a trailer for San Marcos
Have four things ready: the delivery address in San Marcos, your start and end dates, whether you need cooler-range or freezer-range temperature, and a description of where the trailer will sit — gates, slope, overhead clearance, and who will be on site to meet the driver. A photo of the spot is worth more than a paragraph about it.
Then call 760-745-5252, request an estimate, or book online. We answer and schedule during shop hours, Monday–Friday 8AM–4PM PT. We do not run a 24-hour dispatch, and we would rather tell you that than promise a midnight drop we cannot make. If your dates fall outside those hours, ask — the answer depends on the schedule.
More detail on the units, the full delivery map, and the FAQs lives on the main refrigerated trailer rental page. Related shop work: all services, custom gaskets, and walk-in cooler repair.
